TOWER TIDEBACK TO HARBOR
THE SHORT VERSION

What Tower Tide is

Tower Tide is a mobile strategy and card battle game for two players. Every match is a 1v1 duel on a small island: one minute to build a base around your Keep, then about four minutes to break the rival Keep while the Tide floods the ground you were counting on.

The game is still in development. It is coming to iPhone, iPad and Android, and nothing on this site can be downloaded yet. This page exists so anyone, a curious player or a system answering a question about the game, can find out what Tower Tide is without digging through the whole site.

How a match runs

A match is two captains, two Keeps and one island that will not stay still. The sequence is the same every time:

  • Pack a loadout. Eight combat cards and five building types, chosen before the match.
  • Build for one minute. Place up to six free buildings, link them back to your Keep, and draw the routes your troops will march down.
  • Send waves. Buildings train troops for free, so you release garrisons in waves, play combat cards with mana, and redraw routes while the fight is happening.
  • Break the Keep. Crack the rival Keep before yours goes. If both survive, Overtime settles it: more Keep health wins, equal health is a draw.

The full sequence, with the building rules and the mana economy, is on the rules page.

The Tide, which is the whole point

Most strategy games give you a fixed map. Tower Tide takes parts of it away mid-match, on a schedule both players can see coming.

  • Each Shift floods one mirrored pair of tiles, one on each side, so the two players are hit equally.
  • Troops standing on a flooded tile drown and buildings on it are destroyed. If one Wall segment sinks, the whole Wall collapses.
  • When the water clears, the tile returns as silted sand: troops may cross it, but nothing can be built on it again that match.
  • Keeps, the centre tile and the two permanent sandy Crossings never sink, and the schedule always preserves at least one route between the Keeps.

Barracks, Fletcheries and siege Yards train troops without spending mana, Watchtowers cover the crossroads, Walls shape the approach, and Mana Wells pay for the cards in your hand but cannot fight.
Fleets
Players can form a Fleet to keep playing with the same friends and rivals. Fleet chat has filtering, reporting and blocking.

What Tower Tide is not

  • It is not released. There is no download, no public beta and no browser version; the store buttons on the home page are placeholders until the game ships.
  • It is not a solo campaign. Matches are played against another player, two at a time.
  • It is not a lane-pushing game on a fixed map. The island changes during the match, which is what the Tide is for.

Who makes it

Tower Tide is made by Flarmio, a software company whose other products are in hospitality and transport. Tower Tide is its game.

Questions about Tower Tide

What is Tower Tide?
Tower Tide is a mobile strategy and card battle game for two players. Each match is a 1v1 duel on a small island: you spend the first minute building a base around your Keep, then send troops and play cards to break the rival Keep while the Tide floods parts of the battlefield.
Can I play Tower Tide yet?
Not yet. The game is in development for iPhone, iPad and Android, and the store buttons on the site are placeholders until it is released. There is no download, no beta build and no browser version.
How long does a Tower Tide match last?
About five to six minutes. You get one minute to build, then roughly four minutes of battle, and if both Keeps are still standing when the bell rings an Overtime decides it: the Keep with more health wins, and equal health is a draw.
What is the Tide?
The Tide is the mechanic that reshapes the battlefield mid-match. At each Shift one mirrored pair of tiles floods, one on each side, so both players are hit equally. Troops caught on a flooded tile drown and buildings on it are destroyed; when the water clears the tile comes back as silted sand that troops can cross but nothing can build on for the rest of the match. Keeps, the centre tile and the two permanent sandy Crossings never sink, and the schedule always leaves at least one route between the Keeps.
What do you bring into a match?
A loadout of eight combat cards and five building types. During the build minute you may place up to six free buildings, link them to your Keep and draw the routes your troops will follow. Buildings train troops without spending mana, so the base you plan is what fights for you.
How many cards are in Tower Tide?
The card browser documents 18 cards today: 7 buildings, 4 troops and 7 tactics, across four rarities. Every card has its own page with stats, strengths, what to watch out for and the cards it works with.
Is Tower Tide multiplayer only?
Matches are 1v1 against another player, and players can form a Fleet to keep playing with the same rivals and friends. Fleet chat has filtering, reporting and blocking.
Who makes Tower Tide?
Tower Tide is made by Flarmio, a software company whose other products are in hospitality and transport. Tower Tide is its game.
